RemoteTools is built local-first. Most of what it does never leaves your browser, and an account only exists for the AI features.

The short version
- The browsing tools — rate filters, saved jobs, the application tracker, notes, tags, benchmarks and history — run entirely in your browser. That data is stored locally and is never uploaded to us.
- You only need an account for the credit-based AI features. Everything else works signed out.
- The only data sent to our server is what an AI action needs, and only when you press the button.
- We never sell your personal data, and we never auto-apply to jobs on your behalf.
Data stored on your device
The extension keeps its working data in your browser’s local storage (chrome.storage.local and sessionStorage). This includes your filter settings, saved and dismissed jobs, application tracking, employer notes and blocks, your local profile and “about you” details, and a rate benchmark stored as anonymous counts per pay band — never a log of the listings you viewed. None of this is transmitted to us. You can export or clear it from the extension’s options page at any time.
Account data (AI features only)
When you create an account for the AI features, we store:
- Your email address and a securely hashed password.
- A verification timestamp, set when your registration email matches the email on your OnlineJobs.ph account-settings page.
- Your credit balance and a ledger of credit movements (welcome, referral, purchases, and each AI action).
- A referral relationship, if you signed up from an invite link.
Verification by OLJ email match
To unlock credits, we verify that the email you register with matches the email shown on your OnlineJobs.ph account-settings page. The extension, running on OnlineJobs.ph while you are signed in there, reads that email and attests the match at registration; our server marks the account verified only if the emails match. There is no email link to click, and we do not use device or IP fingerprinting. If the emails do not match, credit features stay locked while the free local tools keep working.
What an AI action sends
When you press an AI button — for example “Should I apply?” or “Draft application” — the extension sends the relevant job text and the profile fields you chose to our server, which relays them to our AI provider to generate the result. The first time, it tells you exactly what will be sent and asks. We do not send your email or phone number in a draft. We retain minimal request metadata — such as the job URL, the model used and token counts — for billing and abuse prevention. We do not retain the content you wrote beyond what is needed to return your result.
Payments
Credit purchases are processed by PayMongo (currently in sandbox/test mode). Your card and e-wallet details are handled by PayMongo and are never stored on our servers. We record only the fact and amount of a purchase, linked to your account, so credits can be granted through the ledger. The get-paid document tools (invoices, timesheets, contracts) simply place your own payment links — Wise, Payoneer, PayPal, GCash or bank — into a PDF; they process no money and send nothing to us.
Cookies
The web app uses a single session cookie to keep you signed in after you log in for AI features. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
- We never auto-fill an application form or press Apply for you.
- We never crawl OnlineJobs.ph on our own — the extension only reads pages you are already viewing.
- We never keep a record of which listings you looked at; the benchmark stores counts only.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account from the extension at any time. Deletion is a soft-delete: we mark the record deleted and retain the email identity and last credit balance so the same OnlineJobs.ph email cannot re-claim welcome credits or reset a referral cap by deleting and recreating. Local data on your device is yours to clear directly. To request full removal, contact us at support@oljextension.com.
Children
RemoteTools is intended for working-age job seekers and is not directed to children under 16.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above. Questions? Email support@oljextension.com. RemoteTools is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OnlineJobs.ph.
